My ont installed by open reach engineer inside outhouse/front porch because engineer said is not allowed to install anywhere else in house! so wi-fi not reliable especially upstairs/rear of house, it's intermittent WiFi!
I complained to Vodafone and now I'm awaiting another engineer call out, hopefully to correct botched job!
reading from other open reach information of ont installation engineer could connect a RJ 45 socket from ont and then running a compatible cable RJ 45 through to living room to another RJ 45 socket, similar route to the original copper cable BT/open reach installation which has original line sockets!

Why should there be additional costs? Vodafone/open reach are doing a fresh install to replace copper with full fibre cable but because OR engineer who botched first install IE putting ont and router within outhouse/front porch VF/OR need to correct botched job and install inside house correctly as per agreed contract!

Openreach's responsibility ends at the ONT. Anything after that is yours. Vodafone pay openreach to install the fibre and the ONT that terminates it. You want cat5 cable installing? That's extra. Time is money, plus engineers get a job sheet in the morning, and they have to complete those 8 install jobs before they finish. Appreciate no-one wants to work after 5pm.
Now, fault finding and repair can get even nastier.

What makes you certain that OR engineer responsibility ends with ONT?
If I'm left with a full fibre router installed inside my outhouse/front porch, which is basically furthest most area away from main house IE living room etc. how can any ISP advertise full fibre/WiFi high speed connectivity with guaranteed speeds, when I'm now getting the worst quality wi-fi that's intermittent, dropping out etc! Actually worse than the original copper cable line to router within my house/living room! Surely that can't be the way to treat customers just because OR engineer cannot or will not install correctly inside house. Just doesn't make sense!

"What makes you certain that OR engineer responsibility ends with ONT?"
I'm one of those under-appreciated ICT engineers who has to deal with customers who expect us to go above and beyond for nothing and within the time constraints of the job.

I appreciate anyone regardless of what profession they do if I get what was agree upon during the contract i payed for! Which between vodaphone and open reach they have not fulfilled their obligations to me IE I'm not receiving the full fibre WiFi speeds as advertised because OR engineer hasn't installed correctly because of where he decided to install the ont and router. Informed me that I would have a very good wi-fi signal throughout my house, which I don't because router is basically outside of main house! So I don't think it's unreasonable for me to complain to Vodafone to have my issue rectified ASAP!

If you are on PRO II there is a guarantee of Wi-Fi connected speed (using supplied boosters), if on standard broadband (using THG3000 router) there is none.

TBH I'm not really interested what type of router vf supplied to me, just as long as between VF/ OR correctly install full fibre and I receive the advertised WiFi throughout my house which is not intermittent and weak signal and that I only have to pay advertised amount!

@PATEO1963 Which VF product did you sign-up for? If your product included boosters the positioning of them can make a difference. Regardless of the VF advertising which paints an over optimistic picture they are not responsible if the design or building materials of your property are such that the WiFi signal struggles to reach every corner.
We're you, or another family member, present when the ONT was installed? Did the engineer say anything about why it was installed at that location?
