@Yokerite Which Vodafone broadband type do you have? Which router have you been given?

Same here, can’t plug it into the wall without one, but I can’t find anyone else with the same issue. Feel like I’m being stupid, but my house is old and only has phone ports, no DSL ones. Only filter provided is the other way round.

I think you may be confusing the telephone adapter with a microfilter.
There should be a filter in the box with the router, or you can use a filter that came with any other ISP.
Are new new to the property, and so haven't used broadband there previously?

Hi, yes this is in my new place. None of the cables provided (or any part of the filter) will fit into the socket in the wall, this is my confusion.
The filter in the box does look like a telephone adapter yes. The only other things in the box are the DSL cable and the LAN cable.

Strange, one of the common complaints on here is people don't get the phone adapter, yours is the first I've seen with no microfilter.
Just so we are on the same page, this is a phone adapter
And this a Microfilter
And presumably you have a standard BT master socket, like one of these?
If the microfilter is missing, you will need to contact Vodafone.
You could ask around and most people may well have a spare, from when they swapped ISP, as a new one would probably be provided each time.

That's exactly it, thank you!!!
Seems like my dad had a microfilter lying about so I'll be trying that one. I wasn't sure if one was supposed to be provided since there was no mention of it in the 'box contents' section of the leaflet (this was the Power Hub btw). Guess I know why no one else really had this issue then!
Thanks for your help @Jayach

@brianna5556 , as both you and @Yokerite seem to have the same issue, perhaps they have stopped suppling them by default.
Most new installations now are full fibre, and so don't need a microfilter, and even on FTTC many people have a pre-filtered socket.
Did an Openreach engineer attend? If so they could have replaced your master socket for a pre-filtered one.

I didn't have an engineer out, I actually ordered the router before getting the keys so didn't really know what I'd be dealing with, just assumed everything I needed would be in the box... lol. When I ordered the hub, it specifically said no engineer needed to install.
