LAN Speed locked to 100mb

I've checked my gigabox's LAN speed and it says all the ports are at 100mb when our actual speed is around 400 - 450mb. I usually get around 400 - 450mb on wifi but the ethernet speed is locked to around 90 - 100mb. I am using a cat 6 cable and the ethernet port on my computer is capable of reaching 1gb.LAN.PNG

If you log into the router, under Status&Support, you should be able to see what speed the Lan ports are connected at. Here I just have my laptop connected, which has only a fast internet (100Mbps) port.

If you then link 2 of the ports, you should see that they are 1Gbps.

If yours don't show 1Gbps, they must be faulty (but I doubt they are.)

As I said my cables are cat6 and the adapter it is going into is an Apple Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter connecting to a 2018 MacBook Pro.

I have also tested with another MacBook with a different gigabit ethernet adapter and I have the same result.  No matter what device or cable is used nothing will show on the status page with a link greater than 100mb.

This is what I'm seeing on the status page, the 10mb connection is correct as that's a Todo smart heating bridge which truly is 10mb, but the other two are gigabit devices.

Your picture hasn't been moderated yet, but try just linking 2 port together, if they still do not show 1Gbs try a factory reset on the router.

I need to ask You if You manage to solved that problem with your Lan ports as I got same issues and Vodafon doesn't treat me nice and I'm just thinking about contact Citizen advice or Ofcom to make compliant against them....So maybe I could get some more people to help win that case as they know that it's problem from them side but the keep blame customers

Best regards

I was with Vodafone a few years ago. Every LAN port ran at 100mbps.
Switched to Now Broadband for a year. Every LAN port ran at 1Gbps.
Switched back to Vodafone this year. Every LAN port runs at 100mbps.
All the hardware was the same, apart from the change in router.
Vodfone’s router is [Removed], Simples.

Sorry @Anonymous , but you are completely wrong. If your LAN speed shows as 100Mbs there has to be a good reason. At least you have 4 not 2 like on Now.

No. This has been my experience.

Please stop using that tone. You are being disrespectful. Your experience is not objective truth.
Yes, I had 2 1Gbps ports. Now I have 4 100mbps ports.
Where’s the advantage?

Have you peeps tried the "linking two lan ports together trick as suggested by @Jayach earlier in this thread. It's a valid test that will show whether the router is faulty or not.

Yes, vodafone can be hard to deal with but persistence is key, they will buckle.

I was going to ask that next.

Looking back at that Dec 2022 image I noticed that IP6 was on. Could turning off IP6 help? After all it's not supported by Vodafone.
