New Vodafone BB connection - a big mistake?

Hi forum,

New Line & BB connected on 29th October, but was away half term, and didn't plug in hub & start using till 31st.

I came from ~15 years @ BT with only a few BB/line issues, every time when it was a damaged line to my house, either a few feet away or a few hundred feet a way. On the whole very good , and only left as price was going up @ end of contract and Vodafone had a good offer on.

All this week I've been having issues with my Internet continually dropping out intermittently, every 3 - 5 minutes or so, for about 30 seconds. The wired connections (to pc, tv & sky Q) & wifi connected items too, are all stopping. The white led on hub stays constant and phone line stays clear - no crackling. Line comes into the only BT socket in the house, there's no extensions connected. And just to confirm - issues only began when I started with Vodafone.

I called tech-support yesterday and they were no help, he told me I'd only lost connection twice yesterday which was not true, I've since worked out that's the amount of times I unplugged router trying to get it to work, I've also reset it once, all not working.

So it appears service to router is ok, but not from there forward. When with BT, the first thing I'd do when I had issues was go into the hub stat's page to track what's been happening. I can't see anything similar for my new router.

I'm going to try and cancel my contract if not sorted in a few days and pay the extra to go back to BT.

Is there anything else I could easily do to get it working before I start that ball rolling please?

Thanks in advance 🤞

I'm sorry to see you're having difficulty with your connection @mikrt. When you start a new connection with us, your service quality may fluctuate during the first 10 days whilst your line is finding the highest speeds available on a stable connection. This happens with all providers that use the Open Reach service. After the 10 days if you don't have a strong stable connection with your guaranteed speeds, pop us another message here, or through our social channels and we'll be happy to take a closer look 🔎

Thanks for your reply @Mark, I am aware of the fluctuating speeds at start of service which you mention, but unfortunately this is an entirely different situation.

Also I cannot afford to wait 10 days as it will take me too close to the end of my 14 day coping off period.

Thanks again.
