Just switching from BT Fibre to Vodafone, for some reason when we switched to BT Fibre the Openreach master socket wasn't changed and so we still have a filter. Is this going to work OK?

Can't see your photo but FTTP doesn't use copper cable or a BT Master socket at all. It's all removed and a fibre optic cable will be installed along with an ONT.

I believe it will be FTTC rather than FTTP, by the way Vodafone call it their Fibre 2 package so its not me misunderstanding the difference between copper and fibre.
The current master box has a single telephone BS6312 431A plug with an ADSL filter plugged into that

Vodafone just texted, they will be sending an engineer out

Vodafone's full Fibre 2 does appear to use FTTC but it's hard to say TBH. I know that if FTTP is available in your area they will rip out any old copper lines and replace with fibre and ONT even if you're signing up for services that offer FTTC speeds. Is FTTP available in your area?

unfortunately there is no sign of fibre being put in this area anytime soon, hopefully will be when the 2 year contract ends.

With the new renaming of the services, all services will be provided over FTTP, if it is available to the customer.
If its not available, you will only be offered the choice of Fibre 1 or 2 and it will be FTTC. (as I understand it)
Edit: I've just realised that what you are offered has a different name depending on if FTTP is available to you.
If you do not have FTTP available you will be offered Fibre 1 or 2. (FTTC)
If you have FTTP available it will be Full Fibre 1 2 100 etc.

Interesting that if FTTP is available FTTC is not offered and that FTTP throtted to 36 / 73Mbps is charged the same as FTTC.
How does FTTP work for the landline phone? Is that still on the copper? If so as now a separate service is there an additional charge for line rental either to Vodafone or BT / Openreach if Vodafone hand the line back.
Or is the landline effectively lost so either you have to take out a VoiP contact or rely on mobile? The latter is a big problem to me as I have a hearing loss so rely on DECT phones scattered around the house.

On FTTP the landline is served over digital voice (aka voip) through the Tel1 and Tel2 sockets on the back of the router.

On new connections, even FTTC will have the telephone connection delivered over VoIP.
Using a DECT phone is probably the easiest way to use the service, just connect the base station to the router.
The telephone service is included in the contract, and calls cost the same as on PSTN, however some options are not available (such as voice mail)
