Powerless Vodafone vs Useless City Fibre

Waiting for Vodafone to show some backbone is like waiting for God to show up, it will never happen, missed city fibre installs, promises of activation, line finally installed, still zero service since November 25th 2022 all sound familiar then run away now.

Many and I mean many calls and chats to everyone you can think of and any number of excuses to be then landed in the coral called customer complaints team to which there is no escape and no other way to go (as in no actual managers so far that are willing to grow a pair) and push city fibre into fixing the issue they should have never had in the first place.

if only there was a stronger word than HATE that I was allowed to post on here.

100% I would never recommend the feeble pathetic uncontactable Vodafone.

.@CyberMaster Assuming that you have gone through all the VF process, then your only choice is to contact Ofcom.

You should have received £5.25 per day of failed activation, see https://www.vodafone.co.uk/broadband/auto-compensation-hbb which at a rough exstimate means that VF should have paid over £300 by now.

Plus the failed appearances of the engineer, if applicable.

Unless it changed very recently there is no compensation if you're on City Fibre

Also Ofcom take a very light touch when dealing with the Alt-Nets.

Its Racking up as its still not installed - to press i get it to £413 and counting, I'm sick of waiting and i haven't actually seen a penny of that Money Yet (includes x1 £26 Missed appointment) the rest is yet to discuss for the shear stress and disappointment and loss of service and frustration and anger and missed days of work and Anger and anxiety etc and the countless chats and calls and message sessions with every department that exists (when you can get through).

Hate to say iot but i had a stable connection with Virgin that Worked - just lack of customer service and constantly putting prices up.

Bad news as far as I'm aware. Vodafone don't actually give any money as compensation - all you're likely to be offered is a discount on one of their services.

That's my experience and I'd be glad to hear from anybody that has experienced anything different.

As @prs1000 said, there is no automatic compensation on CityFibre. If you were on Virgin, did you cancel the service? It's always best to allow an overlap when changing technologies.

Hello, I have the same issue. Ordered December and 16th jan activation date. City fibre came out did the work then said the cabinets weren’t connected! Been given 3 dates for them to come and connect and nobody seen since. Good news is the £5 per day comp is from all suppliers so we will get but bad news is it’s capped at £150. It is also 30 days after activation so we still need to get the service activated which at the moment I want to cancel and go elsewhere but it’s the principle! I am on the phone again now to them so wish me luck…..

@Bobmarley80 - I'm sorry to hear your activations been delayed. I hope you've had a positive update on the call last night. If you do need help with this still, then my team can take a look at what's happening. Please get in touch with us through Social Media

Seems that this is just they way Voda(NO)fone (back) work, I've had 6 no show engineer visits, much like OP I've called VodaNOfone so many times I don't even bother to register the names of the powerless sugar coated lie droids that answer the phones, I'm assuming they use a really bad low cost version of ChatGPT right?

My complaint handler Jane does not bother to do anything other than kick the can down the road for future Jane to worry about and today I've been advised by the droid to raise a complaint about the way my complaint is being handled! I'm calling it Complaintception.

When things work they work well, but if a problem occurs then these massive juggernaut companies don't give a stuff about you as a customer, you seemingly mean nothing to them, you and their droids are powerless to fix anything out of the ordinary.

If you can go elsewhere, I'd advise you to do so, if your connection works on day 1, great, if not, run!
