Does anyone know why I can no longer use Port 22 for SSH connections from the internet? I can no longer set up the port forward rule on the relevant page on 192.168.1.1 - I used to be able to do it no problem, but now I get told it is "reserved for internal use"
I spoke to someone in tech support earlier and they weren't sure what I was talking about. Any clarification on this is greatly appreciated as I can no longer do my job when I'm out of the house so I'm looking into changing suppliers.
Thanks.

A VPN (such as Wireguard) would probably be the preferred option to allow secure access to your home LAN.
If that isn't possible, one way around the firewall of the router is to use the 'exposed host' function which is a setting within the router's configuration pages - but I would advise you to do everything you can to secure your network, maybe put your own firewall in place because this leaves you very vulnerable! But this will allow access to the ssh port as required. I personally wouldn't do this - I already use a VPN to access everything on my LAN securely.
