My router is currently on firmware version 19.2.0307-3261013
I'm having problems with cloud streaming on the Xbox and I wanted to eliminate the firmware as being at fault as it's quite a long way behind the latest release.
Doing a manual update check fails after 5 minutes, is there any way you can push the newer firmware to my router?

I very much doubt Vodafone actually wrote the firmware, more likely Technicolor customised their original firmware for them.

Time for my regular check for updates…
Any updates since firmware 19.4.0551-3261103 does anyone know?

No updates. We're supposed to be okay with 16 month old firmware and all it's security flaws.

No change here, still 19.4.0551-3261103. Not really expecting any more changes, the THG3000 must be nearing "end of life".

That grey box was EOL before vodafone even bought it.

Hmm, it's an AC Wave 2 design. At the time of launch, you'd probably only had the first few premium AX devices launched, and there are still AC Wave 2 designs in production today! As for the firmware, if it is modular firmware rather than monolithic (such as my Asus GT-AX6000), then the core being old would not mean that specific modules have not been updated if needed.

As a reference, I’ve just received a brand new THG3000 which has the following versions installed, before going live:
Firmware version: 19.4.0551-3261103-20211126144659
Bootloader Version: 19.02.1146-0000000-20190110090550
Hardware Type & Version: Vox3.0v
Wireless Driver Version: 7.14.170.43
Wireless Driver Version 5 GHz: 7.14.170.43
I can’t see any PPPoE credentials in the settings, assuming these are needed and specific to me, I was wondering if the routers are flashed / updated before being sent out or is that done via TR-069 when provisioning?

Good question, my router has firmware 19.4.0551-3261103-20211126144629, are you sure yours ends in 59?
I don't believe the firmware update relies on TR-069. but then I have no idea on the exact method of firmware updates,

@Ripshod wrote:I doubt they'd compile another 30 seconds later so clearly a typo.
It’s not a typo, I copied the figures directly from the “Status and Support” section and have just double-checked to make sure, it is certainly 59 followed by a dash and what looks like a unique identifier (long alphanumeric string).
edit: Googling I can see the long string so it’s not unique, here’s the full version

This is a brand new router, waiting to be connected via FTTH later this week. I’m planning to only use it for initial setup and verification purposes but will monitor the version whilst it’s connected to see if it changes.

Very strange then. I have 3 THG3000's here and they all have the same same firmware and all differ from yours by that one digit.

I presume you are aware you will need to get your PPPoE credentials from Vodafone. Live chat is usually easiest.

What are you intending to do about the phone connection, or do you not intend using that?
