I found the issue - I thought of replacing the Vodafone provided Cat-5e Red/Yellow (WAN/LAN) cable with Cat-8 network cable to connect the Ultra Hub with the ONT (black) box - and you will see that the Ethernet (Green light) is off, so if I downgrade the connection from Cat-8 network cable back down to Vodafone provided Cat-5e - the Ethernet green light is back on!

Why on earth Vodafone Ultra Hub and/or ONT is not compatible with CAT-7 or CAT-8 ? no idea!

@PAR35HNH4 Because the VF router came out before Cat 7/8. There's little point using the newest cable type when the router is only working at 1Gbps.

Also they are not backwards compatible with Cat 5 basic, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO/IEC_11801#CAT7

Uh? I've got a nice looking CAT 8.1 and it works fine, only cost £7.99, similar price to CAT 5e.  It replaced an under the floorboards CAT 7 when I had the ONT installed. CAT 6 and later 7 have always worked for before without issue.  I've never used Cat 5e except when I was short a cable and used a free one temporarily. Now I've got fiber between switches because I can

If its partly visible I want a nice looking cable.

Not sure what the link below was intended to show? From wikipedia

Class F channel and Category 7 cable are backward compatible with Class D/Category 5e and Class E/Category 6. Class F features even stricter specifications for crosstalk and system noise than Class E

Class I channel (Category 8.1 cable): minimum cable design U/FTP or F/UTP, fully backward compatible and interoperable with Class EA (Category 6A) using 8P8C connectors;

I also have this problem. Cable from main router to booster is Cat 5 but worked fine initially now since main hub was turned off and on the booster is flashing white. How do I fix this. Cable is hardwired through the building so not an easy fix
