Solution

Upgrade Time….?

Just a simple question regarding upgrading to FTTP.

When I enter my details in the website’s availability checker I get the option of a  1.6gbps connection. It considers me an individual transferring to them and asks for provider and last name. So I enter Vodafone and my name but it won’t allow me to continue saying login to get exclusive deals.

I do this and the 1.6gbps option is no longer there only 910

Why is this?

Interesting... If you're FTTC then you won't have an ONT.

1. It will be because your ONT only supports speeds of up to 1GB.

2. No, Vodafone and Openreach will not swap out your existing ONT.

Is the ONT the socket that’s installed for FTTP, if so I don’t have one I’m currently on FTTC

It’s just a bit annoying as I know what I want and all isp’s and the openreach site indicate that I can get 1600.  I’m with Vodafone and would like to stay for convenience sake, but it would appear that 1600 FFTP is available on the Vodafone website for new customer transfers but not for upgrades for me.

Maybe they think I have an ONT when I don’t?
