Upgrade from to HHG2500 to THG3000g

I currently have the HHG2500 and wondered if there's any benefit to upgrading to the newer THG3000g? (there's a few sealed until for sale on eBay). I'm on Superfast 1.

 

I've been given my username / password from Vodafone so assume I'd just need to enter it into the THG3000g settings (somewhere!) and ensure my SSID's are named the same?

There is nowhere to add your credentials into the THG3000 so you would probably have to get it re-provisioned (that seems to be what they call registering it on your account) by Vodafone.

Anyone know the difference between the THG3000 and the THG3000g?

The THG3000g is the version used in the very few areas where G.Fast is available - it uses a slightly different chipset variant.  The THG3000g is actually older than the THG3000, so sometimes you'll find people on Gigafast FTTP have them also.
