Yeah, the new router can deliver when it wants to. As for the little extra you see most fttp providers will give a little overhead.

I remember the last black router was rubbish had to use deco with mesh to get maximum speed

Hardly rubbish, I still use one, but I'm on FTTC.

But it was/is at least 8 year old spec, and never really intended for Gigabit Wi-Fi speeds.

No just on wifi but I'm guessing it will be same if not better as hard wire all ways better
