hi,
I've been trying to connect a netgear, plus one other wifi extender to my broadband, but it will not accept the password (not recognised).
I've done factory resets, connected via WPS, but not joy.
Customer support sent me to the vodafone help page and dropped my chat...- please can anyone help, can't work in the home office!
TIA

I always find it helpful to write the password(s) in a text file, so I can copy and paste it once I'm sure it's correct.
Alternately change it to something you can remember.

So I guess my question is: Have you changed the password on the router WiFi, and if so are you using any special characters? Some devices follow protocol more strictly than others, so temporarily setting a password on the router that only uses alpha-numerics could be a temporary fix.

Hello, did you ever manage to resolve this? I have the same problem and I know that I'm putting the password in correctly. The extender was working with our previous Talk Talk router and I've reset it to no avail. After googling, it looks like there are lots of similar problems with Vodafone routers. It would be great to know if there is a solution! Thank you.

Which extender do you have, and have you tried connecting with WPS?

Yes I'm using WPS and the extender is also a Netgear one like the poster.

I am having the same issue and the Vodafone support community still has not found a solution? My NetGear extender also does not work with the Vodafone router (password not recognised), whereas it worked perfectly fine with my Now Broadband router.

Hello, I was just notified about your reply. I ended up leaving Vodafone and going back to my old supplier as they couldn't fix it and I was still in the cooling off period. It might be something to consider if that's an option for you.

Thanks. I luckily managed to find a solution myself.

I found a solution: You need to use the NETGEAR Genie and I managed to access it via my laptop using a web browser. When connecting to the WIFINAME-EXT (extender network) on Windows, a message appears to help you configure the settings and you need to log in with your NETGEAR details. Then you just follow the steps and the genie sets up the extender and asks you whether you want to use the same password or a different one. And now it works!
