I am on Vodafone fibre so just under a year and no problems getting 10mbps but over the last 5 days I am getting terrible performance on YouTube on wifi on all devices. It either buffers, doesn’t play video and occasionally I get a period of a few minutes with no problems.
I have rebooted router and reset firmware and spoke to Vodafone but no solution. If I connect to mobile data all is good, and all other streaming video sites work fantastic and my wifi speed is always good. Any ideas?

So as I am reading through this thread and posting myself, I decide to test YouTube again. So out of nowhere it seems to be working again! I mean I’ve only tested on my iPhone, which in all honesty is the device that seemed to suffer more than all others. I’m probably going to jinx it, but I feel like it isn’t going to last! I will test other devices and report back.
I am based in South West also.

My YouTube etc. is playing correctly too right now, however this has happened previously where it subsequently broke again. Will have to see how it plays out over the next few days.

Ah I see. I mean I’ve been consistently testing YT everyday since this problem occurred(about a month ago) and constantly been experiencing these buffering issues. It’s like some videos play straight away and others don’t. It can be random as well. Like I can get a string of videos to play with no issues , then say in the 4 or 5th video , it buffers a lot or gets stuck trying to load an ad. I’ve played multiple videos on iPhone and iPad , with no issues, videos play almost immediately, as they did before this all started happening. Going to monitor it and report back.

Same here, the problem seems to be no more, for the time being anyway.
Youtube videos are played immediately when clicked, no hanging and no buffering, smooth like a baby skin ! This is how it should be in the first place.
Need to know if and what has been done to get rid of the problem, if we don’t know what fixed the problem, it could well come back and make our lives miserable !!!

Yes I agree! I mean I haven’t been able to test other devices, but the ones I have, so far so good! I have my fingers firmly crossed that it continues on like this and doesn’t revert back. I’ve been with VF broadband for a few years and have never experienced anything like this, and in all honesty the network has always been pretty decent. I’ve probably spoke too soon though. Let’s see!

Well I'm happy to report that as of right now my Google Play store apps appear to be updating properly.

My google apps have also all updated without any probs, which is promising.

Checked YouTube again this morning and all is back to normal for me. Must of been something to do with VF connecting to google servers, seeing as a lot of you were experiencing issues with not being able to update apps from play store as well. My Sony tv that runs google OS never suffered from that issue oddly. Hopefully this won’t happen again, but I won’t hold my breath!

Google play Store still will not update on Vodafone but does when I connect to BT Fibre next door. Nearly....nearly....

I don't want to be speaking too soon here but it has remained worked for me since yesterday. My Google Play is updating still and YouTube seems to be working just fine.
If this is the end of the issue, thank you to everyone else who put the time in to try to raise this with Vodafone over the last month or so. It's been a real pain.
@yorkshireskippyif you're still not able to update apps, try clearing the data of the Google Play Store. This would sometimes help me if it got stuck due to this weird internet issue
