Hi all I've been told today by Vodafone customer service broadband team that my minimum speed guarantee is only valid if a device is connected via a Ethernet cable! Is this true?

That's correct. A working cat5e cable will deliver the full 1Gbe, or more if you have faster ports. WiFi on the vodafone THG3000, I would say 600Mb on the wifi if you're in the same room less than 10ft away, in good conditions.

So even though my minimum guarantee is 455mps and now for over a week it's down to only 50mps Max over wifi I don't have any way of using the minimum guarantee clause against them? Ps thanks for quick response

That's correct. The minimum speed guarantee covers only the broadband connection to your home. What happens after the router is not covered.
