Streaming services slower

Following change  over two days ago from EE to Vodafone broadband, picture on our Samsung TV is now not as clear and  BBC iPlayer is significantly slower to load. Any suggestions? Thanks

What type of broadband do you have, FTTC or FTTP?

Are you using the Vodafone router?

How is the TV connected to the router?

I believe the broadband is FTTC, the router is Vodafone Ultrahub,  and the TV connects with it remotely.

As it's FTTC did VF tell you that there is a short period of time during which the line has to "settle" or "condition"?  However don't let it go on for too long or you will bump into your contract cooling-off period. Don't turn off the router or it may start the conditioning all over again. You said it has only been two days so far so you should see an improvement in the next day or so. There are other threads (conversations) on this forum about the same subject, so it would be worth your time to search them out and see if anything written there is the same as your circumstance.

Thanks , Cynric, for your advice... very helpful. Does the stabilisation period still apply one when company takes over the supply from another? In our case, we transferred from EE to Vodafone.

Good question. As DLM is between the router and the local cabinet, possibly not, however you have probably been connected to a different port, so probably.

I doubt your problems are due to the line connection. If you could show us the stats from your router, we may be able to tell.

i don't have the Ultra router, but this is what it looks like on the THG3000.

I was thinking that the cabinet connection would likely be changed and that the VF router chipset would be different to that of the EE one and so it'd probably need to settle.

You are probably right about the cabinet connection being different, but, as I understand it, on VDSL the DLM will usually try for the best connection it can get, whilst still keeping a reasonable SNR. (approx 6.3db)

it will then monitor the line and make any necessary adjustments to keep the line stable. If the line performs well it may even lower the SNR to allow a little more speed. (as it did for me)

If we just knew what @Chocomad stats are we could see the sync speed, and know if that may be the root of their problem. A speedtest reading would be good as well to compare it with the sync.

I would presume the problem is more likely W-Fi related (if that is what the OP is using for the TV) although with the Ultra router I would have hoped that would be unlikely. 

At the moment we really don't have enough information to base a diagnosis on.
