Incoming Calls Fail After Gigafast Upgrade

I've had VF VDSL broadband for quite a while, and it's always been trouble-free.

I switched to Gigafast last month, and the broadband has been excellent.

However, friends and family complain that my landline is not working, They say that my number is unobtainable or engaged.

However, phoning from VF mobile is fine, but O2, EE or 3 callers face the problem. Landline callers who are on VF get through OK, but BT landline, Talk Talk and others encounter the problem.

I can make outgoing calls with no problem
What on earth is going on?

There has been a problem with the transfer of your number, you will need to contact Vodafone.

Thanks. Is this unique to me, or a common problem?

Unique no, Common is more difficult to say, as those that don't have problems do not post.

I spoke to a 'porting expert' and it seems that my landline has been with various phone companies:

Virgin => BT => Vodafone.

Because I asked to keep my number, incoming calls from non-Vodafone numbers are routed to Virgin first, because they still own the original number. Virgin should then route to BT, and then to Vodafone.

It seems that Virgin are a bit problematic when they have to update routings.

Currently, VF are waiting on Virgin.

Maybe I should have asked for a new VF number when I upgraded.
