Just got FTTP and everything is working fine off the VF router. Phone lines are plugged into the VF router, VF router's WiFi is switched off. 3rd party Mesh has been switched to Bridge mode and plugged into the VF's ethernet port.
However I am shocked at how feature poor the VF router is. e.g. There are no Parental controls at all. I know I can get rid of the VF router and plug my own Mesh router into the Openreach ONT, but what about the Landline.
Are there any 3rd party routers in the market that have a telephone socket at the back to allow the home phone to be plugged in?

Hi. I am trying to sort out my 801HT using the settings page you supplied. I have a couple of questions:
1) Under the "Dial Plan" setting, there is a long string of characters which APPEARS to have scrolled and therefore been truncated. Could you please let me know the full setting you have used?
2) A bit further down the configuration page you have an item SRTP Keylength AES 128 & 256 bit - My new 801HT does not have this!!!! Any ideas?
The Dial Plan settings mean absolutely nothing to me, but seem to be completely different to the defaults set on my unit - so as you seem to have succeeded, I was just copying what I could see verbatim.
I am just getting a message" This person's phone is unavailable, please try later or send a text" when I try ringing the landline from my mobile, so clearly I have not got something right yet. Any advice most welcome.

Decided to suck it and see and also just for the crack, disabled call waiting as tbh whenever we had an error that was what the handset was saying while bleeping that call waiting was unavailable.
Probably makes no difference but the two people who would just keep ringing or get engaged tone while we were getting call waiting unavailable or two tone bleeping in ear now both called and both were answered correctly.
So appears to work fine now

Thanks @cf996 ! The user agent fixed calls to mobiles for me 👍

Does this happen when you dial out to landline and mobile phones? I did experience this issue on a relative's account. On theirs only landline outbound calls work.

Yes, that's it. Landline calls are fine, but mobile calls get number unavailable.

This is strange not everyone that calls is affected with what happens but when it does often our handset says call waiting unavailable on the screen when the two tone beeping occurs and the caller still is ringing their end or get cut off.
Yet others like myself via mobile can be answered every single time without issue.

I think I might bite the bullet and just leave the thg3000 running without wifi and use 'exposed/dmz/whatever it is called' mode for my own router & wifi then forward ports for whatever services I need.
fyi I did get some traces from the grand stream via syslog, the mobile calls looked (to my untrained eye) the same as the outgoing landline calls except they received a 'decline' status code (603) whereas the landline calls got a 100 (then later a 183 when the call had been picked up).

Hmm, the DMZ setting on the VF router seems somewhat cryptic to me.
@ZinGeRs if you get anywhere with the mobile call issue, please post your solution!
@bruce_miranda if I remember right, you posted that you had a working setup with an HT81x - do your outgoing calls to mobiles work okay?

On the Vodafone VOIP line I've been working on incoming calls that have the called ID withheld don't work and on my mobile, that's how I have it set normally. So for testing I had to change this in my mobile's settings.
This is a Vodafone wide block though (I guess you can call them and have it removed). Outgoing to a mobile worked fine as that's what I tested it on.

Well, I was almost ready to give up! I went through the chat to make a complaint and got lucky. The advisor couldn't do enough to help and I quickly had the VOIP details.
Then most of yesterday evening and most of this morning was spent trying to get it working.
Finally, success! Thanks to everyone on the thread for sharing their configs and advice. I was feeling a bit like the thick kid!
