Just got FTTP and everything is working fine off the VF router. Phone lines are plugged into the VF router, VF router's WiFi is switched off. 3rd party Mesh has been switched to Bridge mode and plugged into the VF's ethernet port.
However I am shocked at how feature poor the VF router is. e.g. There are no Parental controls at all. I know I can get rid of the VF router and plug my own Mesh router into the Openreach ONT, but what about the Landline.
Are there any 3rd party routers in the market that have a telephone socket at the back to allow the home phone to be plugged in?

Hi All,
Thanks to this forum I managed to get my Vodafone VoIP service (FTTC) working using a HT802 Grandstream ATA. I tried initially with a Gigaset S850 Go VoIP handset but would not work or register with the limited information you could enter in the phone. Could get a VoipFone service to work with the Gigaset device but as the Vodafone phone is part of the contract and has local existing number I wanted to use this of course.
So far so good other than a short spell of not registering after a resync. Using a sun server and opened up some ports in the router although not sure I needed too so may end up deleting the couple of port forwards.

Hi,
I’m having some issues getting my HT801 working successfully for calls via a DECT phone.
I’ve set the device up as per the last successful config file posted here, however, after connecting it to my Ubiquiti router and trying to get a dial tone on the phone, I get the message “device not registered”.
Does anyone know what I might have missed?
I’ve double-checked the config and it matches.
I haven’t done any port forwarding on the router (a few people have mentioned that), and am not sure what would be needed.
Any assistance would be great.
Thanks in advance!

if you've changed the dns servers on your router then you need to set them on the ata.
90.255.255.90 & 90.255.255.255 - These are set on the ata's 'Basic' tab.
Are you sure you have the correct details from vodafone? Mistakes are common.
What details have vodafone given you. You should have five in total -
SIP_LINE1_PASSWORD : *************
SIP_LINE1_URI : *********
SIP_LINE1_USERNAME : **********
SIP_OUTBOUND_PROXY : **********
SIP_REGISTRAR_SERVER : **********
I don't know which setting you're used but mine are here

Thanks @Ripshod.
I haven’t touched the DNS Settings, but now that you mention it, I probably should have. I’ll check what’s in the Vodafone device and replicate that in my router (and the HT801).
About the settings provided by Vodafone, they look okay. I really hope they’re correct, because getting that info took lots of calls and chat sessions. 😬
Finally, the config… that was courtesy of your good self, so another thank you is due!
I’ll post back to advise how I get on.

You presumably have a static ip? If not get one from vodafone (they are free) will make matters easier in the long term and you will need to open ports to the ip of the grandstream to use the phone

Thank you @ZinGeRs I missed that.
You need to open udp port 5065 and udp port 10000

Thanks @ZinGeRs .
I’d read varying comments about whether a static ip address was necessary, but I’ve now requested one from Vodafone.
Apparently it can take anywhere from 2-24 hours, so I’ll have to sit tight.
After that, I’ll dig into which ports I need to open.
