Hi Guys,
I have recently moved from Virgin and now use the Full Fibre 500 service with VF. I have plugged my old DECT handset into the VF router but it shows as no line?? Is there a reason for this? The router shows the 'phone' light on so i'm stumped.
Can anyone advise on what the issue may be. For reference this was a newly installed fibre line, i have no master socket so have been led to believe i plug straight into the marked phone outlet to the back of the router which is how it is currently set up.
Cheers. Justin.

Hi, no i have used the supplied cable and connected that directly from the phone base station to the tel port.

I wasn't supplied a VOIP adapter, the only other item in the box was a DSL filter which is no use as i now don't have a traditional phone socket. I thought that full fibre 500 was a direct to hub connection?

If you're relying on the display have you tried a call yet? Do you get a dial tone?

Hi, just tried no dial tone. If i ring the landline number from my mobile it rings on the mobile but nothing happens at the landline.

If you are using an RJ11 to RJ11 (modem) cable, it may be that the pins on the DECT base do not match the cable.
The cable will use the centre 2 pins, the DECT base may use the outer 2 pins. (it should be easy to check)

I've just checked the DECT base unit and that appears to have four brass coloured centre pins.

Impossible to say what pair they are using then.
Really it needs the original cable refitting and a VoIP adapter used at the router end.
How to set up my home phone (vodafone.co.uk)
If you didn't receive one, contact Vodafone and they should send you one.

A thought. If you have the original cable, check what pair of pins are used at the phone end of that. (hopefully it won't have all 4 present)
