If you are Superfast 1 or 2, then you need to use a socket on a filter or filtered faceplate on the wall. If you are Gigafast then you will normally be using VOIP through one of the sockets on the back of the router.
*VF keep very hush about the ability to use the VOIP ports if you are on a Superfast connection!

Thanks for your answer. Would you just confirm that can I use the RJ11 on the hub if I’m not a Gigafast? What is gigafast?

Gigafast is FTTP (Fibre to the Premises). It requires a fibre connection to have been installed by Openreach or CityFibre. The fact you asked means you're probably not on it.
If you are you asking if you can use the RJ11 phone sockets on the THG3000, the answer is probably no.
How is your hub connected to the phone line and are you using a filter?

Gigafast is Vodafone FTTP (Fibre To The Property) product, as opposed to Superfast which is FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet). If you are on Superfast 1 (upto 40ish Mbps) or Superfast 2 (upto 80ish Mbps), the phone sockets on the rear of the router are not used.
