We have recently and reluctantly moved over to Digital Voice with Vodafone, having been with Vodafone for a number of years.
First problem was having to plug the telephone directly into the router. Vodafone initially said this was fine they would supply something that would enable the router and telephone to continue to be in separate rooms.
When it turned up I was horrified to discover a 10cm cable adaptor. I was under the impression I would be receiving two ‘dongle’ type thingies - one for the phone and one for the router. Vodafone says ‘Nope’ these don’t exist.
Vodafone arranged for OpenReach to move our Master Socket. Today a month later the Same OR engineer has been back to put the MS back where it was as it has been dropping out and leaving us with no internet at all for periods of 12-17 hours at a time.
So I am now left with my router back in its original place - under the sink in the utility room, with my landline now balanced on the edge of the sink. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. OR engineer was telling me about adapters that are available to BT customers that act as a ‘bridge’ between telephone and router. Sounds like just what we need - but he didn’t know if any are compatible with a Vodafone router. I can’t find that information. Does anybody know ? (FTTC)

@Glorie There are quite a number of discussions about this VoIP adapter on the forum. One solution for phone extensions is to use a DECT system. Anyway have a search and come back if you're stuck.

I’m sorry, I’m really not tech savvy. Actually the reason we are sticking with a landline at all is because my husband no longer has the capacity to make or receive calls on his mobile. But he does manage the landline.
I see DECT are a type of telephone. We already have phones (3 connected via one base station) and want to retain these because of the Call Guardian feature.
What I cannot find is a means to plug the phone (base station obv) into the router at a distance./ wirelessly.
I have looked at other posts and threads but to be honest haven’t understood the questions let alone answers.
I just wish I hadn’t entered a new contract with Vodafone!

It sounds like you got a pretty useless Openreach engineer, probably just a contractor working for them. Moving a master socket should not cause the problems you describe if it is done correctly.
Under the sink in the utility room is a terrible place for a router, all those copper pipes will cause havoc with the Wi-Fi
There is no solution similar to the BT one available for Vodafone. The BT one works by having a DECT base built into the router.
However there is a method by which you can still use your extension wiring with the Vodafone router, it's called Voice Re-Injection (VRI), It's probably not something you could do yourself, but should be easy for a competent DIYer or electrician. Try googling it, there is a lot of info available.
Personally my favoured method would be to get a DECT phone set and connect the base unit to the router and then you can have the "extensions" anywhere there is a convenient power socket.
Sorry that there is no simple solution.

I believe our existing phones are DECT. At least they work when the base station is plugged into the router.
But that is my point - having the base station balanced on the edge of the sink in the utility room is not practical. I want to be able to have the phone in the living room. I was initially told this would be possible . I have already suggested that they listen to the telephone conversation where I was assured that phone and router could continue to be in separate rooms, before I agreed to renew the contract. It was then they asked Open Reach to move the Master Socket. That resulted in outages of 12-17 hours. So it was put back to its original location. The engineer had an Open Reach van so I assume he is not a subcontractor.
However the lack of suggestions here as to any wireless adapter that is available makes me think this whole discussion is futile. If it doesn’t exist nobody can tell me where to find one.
At least now I have reliable internet again, which is a bonus after the past few weeks. But I need to weigh up the options and see whether exiting the contract without penalty is possible so I can move to another provider that does what I need.
