Solution

R218h how to unlock without Vodafone support

Hi, I have a 2 year old MiFi R218h I wish to unlock.

The nuc website keeps sending emails that they can't match the IMEI, even though its correct. Support is not smart enough to solve either and believes it not to be Vodafone, even though it's clearly branded and has a Vodafone sim. They gave it to me when they messed up a Vodafone broadband installation which had to be cancelled completely.

How can I bypass the world class incompetence on display and get the unlock code? I'd even pay a third party at this stage.

Perhaps have a word with the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries.

I'd suggest Twitter and link back to your thread here including your forum username so your not having to repeat yourself.

Thanks, unfortunately the social media team is only good for apologising and providing links to their own website. They essentially just use the same websites we do and read the response out instead of sending me an email. Complete waste of time.

I need a way to bypass Vodafone, they are the problem. Blindly stuck in process and not capable of thinking outside clicky clicky = yes/no.

If no one else has any other options, I'll just throw it in the bin and buy a new one from a competitor. Not worth the headache dealing with Vodafone directly.

Hi @JDoyle

As advised by @BandOfBrothers, the best option would be to speak to our Social Media team over Facebook or Twitter. If you've provided all the correct details on the NUC Form, the Social Media team can query this with the NUC team. You can find details on how to contact us here.

Thanks, I appreciate your effort but I'm not doing that for a fifth time to go through the same process to get the same "computer says no" response. The employees just don't understand context.

I can buy a new one unlocked for £50. The choice between throwing Vodafone in the bin and just getting a new one has become a lot clearer now. The bin for Vodafone.

I miss when Vodafone was good. But now it's luxury prices with flea market service.
