I have been speaking to support and hitting an absolute brick wall when trying to explain the issue to them. I am seeing extremely low speeds and packet loss as soon as i hit a Vodafone router with the IP 192.168.213.22, support are throwing wild claims how "it will be fixed by <time>PM" which comes and goes still seeing up to 35% packet loss. What can I do about this? Vodafone just will not listen.
OPNsense.flat.local is my core router
72.16.1.1 is my 4G modem.

We'll be more than happy to look into this for you @Gnomesenpai, I'm unable to see any issues affecting the DL2 area. If you can pop us your full postcode, we'll be able to take a closer look into this for you. If you'd prefer not to post this publicly, add it to the personal information in your profile where only our moderators and yourself can see it. Alternatively, pop us a private message via one of our social channels and we'll check the coverage in your area.

It is not an area fault, another use on this forum has described having the same issue over 100 miles away, i spent an hour on the phone to support and got nowhere. I repeat, IT IS NOT a localised issue in the DL2 area. But no one will listen to me and other users.
this user is having the same issue, same router at fault. https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Network-queries/S10-Sheffield-Severe-packet-loss-on-4G/td-p/2721470

Just like clockwork the latency issue is back, this issue is happening from about 3PM to midnight daily. What is going on Vodafone?

Experiencing what I think is the same issue in Leeds. I use 4G for my home broadband and mobile phone. I experience extreme packet on both connections as the day goes on. It makes using the internet frustrating and a lot of things impossible. From reading the forums others are experiencing the same - what is going on Vodafone?

@BrilloPad_ get a program called WinMTR. It does ping and traceroute at the same time

I believe it is probably ICMP shaping, or routers reducing the priority of ICMP - which is not uncommon, generally.
On the *nix variant of mtr, you can switch to 'tcp' mode - rather than 'icmp' - I'm not sure about the Windows version.
But when you switch to TCP mode, traces make it through, albeit with pretty horrendous latency spikes which adds some weight to congestion/contention and ICMP shaping (again, this is not uncommon).
mtr --tcp 1.1.1.1
Edit: Oh, you've got opnsense, could install mtr there:
root@fw00:~ # pkg install mtr

I wish they'd do something about this, it's been happening since late November. Lebara (my SIM's operator, VF MVNO) just don't care, and Vodafone refuse to log a fault or take any diagnostic info from me. Unfortunately I'm forced to use Three for the time being, who are by far inferior in terms of speed — though at least it doesn't function like a dial-up connection after 3 PM.
How this doesn't show up on their performance metrics I don't know, it's genuinely concerning how they treat their network. What aggravates me the most is that they won't even acknowledge that there's an ongoing issue. Same with the whole Google/YouTube caching issue back in September, it took well over a month for VF to resolve.

The issues I see, are more or less peak times - usually around 8PM through to around 10PM, for the rest of the day it's usually pretty good.
The same was also seen during the world cup, any even slightly high profile game would see things deteriorate.
It does seem, at first glance, to be load related on the network as a whole - I'm on the South Coast - based on peak time, or high profile events..

Hello everyone 👋 Firstly I just want to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the issues you're experiencing - I know it can be frustrating when things aren't working as expected.
If anyone would like us to take a more in-depth look into both their area and how the associated Vodafone SIM's are updating on the network, please come and chat to my team securely via Twitter or Facebook.
Please remember to include a link back to your post here, then you won't need to explain things again.
