I live in a low reception area and rely on Vodafone WiFi to use my mobile phone from home. It works very well. I am hoping to go abroad (France) as soon as Covid allows. Will Vodafone WiFi work from a hotel WiFi in France just the same as it does here ? If so, will there be charges using the Hotel WiFi for phoning the UK ? I mean Vodafone charges, not the hotel.
Also will I be able to RECEIVE calls in the same way as in the UK using WiFi ?
I would be grateful if anyone knows the answer. Thanks.

Hi @6dh
Apart from any charge made by the Hotel, Vodafone cannot charge for a wifi data connection, and charges will have already been made by the wifi provider.
Providing you are not on a Basic tariff, you also have roaming included and won't be charged for any calls, texts or data connection in this roam free destination. Travelling Abroad
As far as WiFi calling abroad is concerned, please see the following link roaming Para 11where you will see that it may be possible to enable WiFi calling : WiFi calling Terms and Conditions

Thanks, very helpful.
The Ts and Cs make it clear that normal rates for using abroad apply. I would only be using WiFi calling to call a UK number, and so I assume the France to UK rules would apply, namely same as if I was calling UK to UK.
Thanks again.
