I've posted several times here about my challenges with Vodafone signal in my area. Nothing has improved so I recently opted for a secondary backup eSim from [Removed]
Herein lies the problem. When I'm out and about in the village my Vodafone SIM has about 2 bars of 'E' data, however nothing actually works over this data connection, not even simple things like Google Maps or messaging. I was under the impression 'E' data was supposed to work, just at much lower data rates?
Is this a problem with my handset? Or another problem with poor signal?
Is there any way to tell my iPhone to not allow 'E' data so that it will auto-swtich to [Removed] 4G properly?

This is disappointing to hear @sebbelcher, if you pop us a DM through our social channels with full postcode for locations you're struggling ot connect, we'll be more than happy to look into this for you.

E means 2G, with an absolute max data speed around 400Kbps - but often much less.
Google Maps itself is not "basic" where those speeds are concerned.
