Mentioning Someone in this Community 😐

Hello Everyone

I don't normally class myself as useless with IT stuff, but I don't seem to be able to "mention" people in this Vodafone community!

What exactly is the syntax? or how to do it?

I put the @ symbol in front but it doesn't seem to work πŸ™„ πŸ˜Š

@shuntfield

Seeing as its St David's Day and I'm Welsh, then here's a big πŸ€— Cwtch to anyone that can help πŸ€£ πŸ΄σ §σ ’󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Hi @shuntfield

You won't be able to mention until you are a higher rank in the Community.  Not sure of the rank you need to be sure someone from the Social Team will be able to confirm this for you.

Personally, I don't see any harm making mentioning available to all posters and it shouldn't be something that is dependent on rank.

Ah OK thanks @AnnS

You can have the πŸ€— from Wales in that case πŸ˜‚

For some reason I cannot mark the post as solved, it just blows an Authentication error for whatever reason!

Maybe someone who actually works for Vodafone can explain why they limit this functionality?

We removed the ability to PM and tag people from our Community members @chistery. This was done to help prevent users receiving unwanted spam messages. These services are now only available to our moderators and community champions.

It might be worth writing that in the user guide then, I tried for ages to find out why, and also looked like a n00b trying it... πŸ˜«

A very good point @shuntfield, we're always looking for ways to improve the Community. I'll pass on the feedback about updating Community guide πŸ™‚
