Hi all
We've just added the poll:
What's the first thing you look for when getting a phone?
- Camera
- Battery
- Price
- OS (Apple iOS, Google Android, Microsoft, etc)
Personally, the OS (Operating System) is most important to me as I have a lot of apps and have been using the same OS for about 6 years.
How about you; let me know below

Operating system hands down.
Specifically because of how different ones patch differently. When Apple release a fix, it is world widely available for everyone, no additional waits involved. I always go for Apple phones because of this. They also support their devices for a lot longer than Android phone makers do.
Where as if it were a Android (I would never buy an Android phone), Google don't even make the patches usually, they ask the bug reporter to make the patch, who send it in to Google along with the report, who then send the patch they never made to the hardware providers. From there it spends months to a year in in the network providers queue going through "branding" testing. And if your Android phone is less than a year old, you'll be lucky enough to get the patch after running an insecure device for a extremely long time. There's just way too much wrong with the Android platform, from Google, through the hardware maker who should not legally be allowed to control the software side, to the network provider who then massively delay and limit patch roll out even further still.

Well I only ever have Android so although that's number one it's a forgone conclusion so I'll ignore that. Secondly it's almost certianly going to be a Samsung so again that can be ignored.
For me the screen size and display quality is number one as I do a lot of surfing and watching downloaded TV.
I know roughly what I want to spend each month so usually get the best Samsung I can for the money, mst recently the Note 4
