Apple Services not working over home broadband, everything else is OK

Sometime today I noticed my Apple emails stopped being delivered to my home computer and mobile phone.   All other email services seemed to be OK and I could access the internet with no issues.  I assumed it was an issue at Apple's end.  I then noticed that when I left the house and my phone switched to 4G that my emails were delivered.

 

So when I got home I did some testing and I could see that most the the Apple services I use had stopped working e.g. Apple News, iCloud email, access to my Apple Music via Sonos (working in Apple Music OK though), FaceTime was not working, iMessages not being sent, etc, etc.   I had the same issue on both my computer, iPhone, iPad, etc.

 

I still had access to all other internet with no problems.      When I turned of WiFi on my phone though and reverted to Vodafone 4G everything started working again on the iPhone.   If I shared the 4G internet connection from the iPhone to the computer everything started working on the computer.   If I then went back to WiFi it all stopped again.   I have restarted EVERYTHING to no avail.    It really seems to be a Vodafone broadband issue which is stopping access to some of Apple's services / servers.

 

I have tried to search for the same issue and have found nothing similar.   I can't believe this is just something I am seeing.   Maybe it is related to the broadband outage that happened today (which is glaring missing from these discussion pages for some reason).

 

Any ideas?

Soo glad it’s not just us!

 

Exactly the same here! Connect to Apple services AOK when on mobile connections (EE & O2) but no apple services work when using the Vodafone broadband after today!

This will be related to the total outage a lot of customers experienced today. It makes sense that it won't all come back at once for everyone. 

Glad to know it was not just me!

Strange it just seems to be the Apple Servers that can't be accessed.   

I did not actually have the internet outage today, it has worked fine except for the Apple stuff.

Mine was on and off for a few hours. Still haven't got wifi calling back yet. As with everything vodafone - patience. 

Yes, it definitely wasn't just you!

I noticed Apple Maps wasn't working properly, and neither was the App Store - none of the updates would complete!

Since this morning, everything seems to be back to normal again.

Hi all, our Tech team are aware of an issue affecting Apple devices/services through our Home broadband service. They're working hard to fix this. We'll keep you updated on our progress with this.

Can't send or receive any emails when on the wifi network but it works perfectly fine when on 4G. I'm on iPhone and everything is updated, I've logged in and out of the email but it doesn't make a difference. Apple have said to contact the wifi provider which is my next move but was just wondering if there was a simple fix to this that I could do before I get in contact with Vodafone. 

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I hope it gets sorted soon as I use Apple as my main email. How strange and very frustrating
