Does "Full fibre 1" include a landline and line rental?

I'm going through the process of ordering full fibre 1, and it asks if I want to keep my landline number, suggesting that this package includes a landline rather than being a "broadband only" package. However the price (£22) seems too good to be true, especially as most providers charge £20+ just for line rental these days.

Could someone please confirm that this package is FTTP broadband *and* includes a landline?

And assuming it does, is caller ID included?

Thanks in advance

Why? Full Fibre (fttp) is a fibre connection right into the property. The naming is correct.

@Ripshod So-called "Full Fibre" 1 & 2 are only FTTC.

It's very misleading calling them "Full Fibre 1 & 2"!

They don't, and never have (AFAIK) called them "Full Fibre", just "Fibre".

Which you are offered depends on whether FTTP is available at your location or not.

Edit: the above are what you get if you are in an Openreach area, if in a CityFibre area the Upload speeds will be the same as the downloads.

It's not confusing at all. (takes tongue out of cheek)

The problem is they have to call the VDSL services "Fibre" because everyone else does. If they called them something else, then  nobody would join Vodafone because they will assume the Vodafone service is not as good as all the other "Fibre" services.

The reason I asked is because we're with Plusnet (regular broadband) who have started doing full fibre, however these packages don't include phone, which you have to go elsewhere for, pay £20+/mth for the line rental, and keep your existing copper line which seems daft.

That's because you are expected to get your own VoIP solution. It will probably work out cheaper in the long run, and offer greater flexibility. The copper PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) will be switched off in 2025.

I bet the 2025 target is missed in my area, there's no fibre infrastructure and the last status document said that contracts for the laying of new fibre have not been issued yet.

For emergency purposes I keep two empty tin cans and a long piece of wet string. 😁

The 2025 will be hit. Where there is no Full Fibre, a copper based VoIP solution will be provided. It's the PSTN that is being switched off, not the actual copper.

Mine (FTTC) has gone all 'Digital Voice' from today.  Makes no odds as we haven't had a land line phone connected for eons.
There is no FTTP in our area and it seems as though hell may freeze before it ever happens.

Text message from Vodafone…

”Great news, we've now switched your home phone service from the old copper network to the new broadband-based service called Digital Voice. If you use your landline, you'll need to plug your existing home phone into the TEL port in the back of your Vodafone WiFi Hub using the adapter we've sent you.'
