Help with Router User Adjustments

Midori47
4: Newbie
I have been unable to get Router working fully in respect of one particular feature. The feature is the regular updating of a wi-fi connected device with external ambient temperature. (It worked with former Plusnet router).
Below is the situation Log after a clean update today (router reset button for 15 secs, etc.)
Can someone walk me through the User Settings to remove the errors highlighted in yellow ?
Hardware Type & Version Vodafone Hub Vox3.0v  First Installed Feb 2023. I have fiddled with it for 10 weeks and no joy.

@Midori47  Using numbers instead of a domain name will cause problems the moment the numbers change, which is why DNS is used.

With my limited knowledge on how to progress the issue, I have written to Sam Helwig, the author of your link "Replacing the Google Weather API", asking how I should proceed.

If all goes well, he will give me clear cut statement on how to go forward with either Honeywell or Vodafone.

@Midori47  Did you also try "consumersupportuk @ honeywellcome.com"? (Remove spaces to re-format the email address).

Yes, I fought with their support service in February/March after changing ISP from Plusnet to Vodafone. They asked me to turn off Router, and connect Evohome Controller by WiFi to my mobile device, and it worked 100% !!!!!!!

It worked 100% with Plusnet SIM and with THREE Sims.  I re tried the sims in 2 x  MIFi's and it all worked 100%.

So Honeywell said proudly " There are no complaints with our product  IT IS YOUR ROUTER " !  So that is why I am looking deeper in the issue (with your help of course)  I am now almost ready to say it is the Router, and come out to fight round 2 with Honeywell, and have been doing more tests this last week. What makes me still think it is Vodafone Router is the following test......

If I disconnect Honeywell Evohome from VF Router.
Place a Sim in an old unused Mobile Phone,
Connect old phone by WiFi Router.
Turn on phone Hotspot,  I then can connect the Evohome by WiFi to the Hotspot,  All works 100%.

To prove it is not the Plusnet nor Three Sim, I removed the Sim  and attempted to  repeated the test, but the old phone disables hotspot'ing unless there is a sim physically in the tray.

Workaround:

I put the sim back in old phone tray again, connected old phone by WiFi to Router,  set up the phone Hotspot and WiFi connected the Evohome to Hotspot. All Works 100% as before, Then I turned OFF "Mobile Data", and the Hotpot continues to function, the Evohome works 100%, and finally verify there are no charges accruing on my account.  Also VF Router also shows no connection with the phone.

So the service is running successfully from [ ISP }  ><  [ VF Router Wifi ]  <>  [ Phone Hotspot ]  <>  [ Evohome ]

@Midori47  Have you tried changing the DNS settings in the router, to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8?

I did that just now and restarted DSL.   Evohome is showing 16C.  Outcome is now pending.

I will let you know if the temperature value updates before midnight.

@Midori47  You said, "I did that just now and restarted DSL". With the replies between the various correspondents being muddled could you say what it was that you just did please?

No Problem. I had assumed when I hit the reply button to a former post it inserted your @name which shows below the 'Replying To' ( same as my @name shows on your replies)

My former, as well as this comment are to @Cynric and referred to my change of DNS.

I cannot tell if the change has worked unless the outside temperature updates to a new value.

@Cynric

I regret that Evohome controller indication of outside ambient has not been updated since change of DNS and therefore this data is blocked. The indicated temperature of 16C was that of last update before changing DNS.

Other news regarding change of DNS:  I can no longer login to Router as the password is rejected. I assume I will have to do a hard 12 second reset on the Router. In which case the DNS should resort to default values.

That really shouldn't happen.

However using a phone as basically an access point (if I understand your description) also shouldn't make any difference, but apparently it does.

Have you tried connecting to the guest Wi-Fi, or does that mess up the other functions? (and no. I've no idea why that might make it work, I just thought it may be worth trying)
