Hi, THG3000 with Decos4?

Hi what’s the best set up using a deco s4? I’ve currently got it plugged into the thg3000 router/modem with Wi-Fi turned off.  I have a ont box on the wall which I believe is fttp? Am I able to lose the Vodafone router and connect the defo straight to the ont unit? Thank you in advance for any help.

The Deco will connect directy to the ONT, so your thinking is correct. All you need are your PPPoE login details from vodafone

Bear in mind you will lose easy access to your digital voice service, though it is possible to work around this if needed.

So went back to the original Vodafone router and my internet speeds are back up. I’m guessing the mesh system is causing the speed to drop when losing the router for some reason.

What service do you have?

What difference in speeds are you seeing?

Think there’s something wrong with my line as I’m only getting around 250 when I’m paying for 900. Going to phone them tomorrow.  So unsure if it was the deco or not now as the speeds are the same using both. Will update you when I know.

So today I’m getting 500ish im paying for 1000 but according to the guy on the phone 500ish is all I can receive.

Cobblers, 500 is all they guarantee, but you should get what you pay for.

You may have a way to get out of this. One of the latest emails from Vodafone with the topic "Summary of your Vodafone Home Broadband order will state the minimum speed you're contracted to get. In my case (Full Fibre 200) they clearly state a minimum and maximum u speed of 200Mbit. Take a look at yours. Failing to comply with the contract should make it null and void.
