IF YOU ARE USING A THIRD-PARTY ROUTER THAT WORKS 100% WITHOUT BUGS.PLEASE PM ME THE MAKE AND MODEL SO I CAN UPDATE THE LIST
The first thing you need to do is ask Vodafone for your username and password. live chat with Vodafone is best because you can copy and paste the name and password into the router. ( some users did write it down wrong. password is lower and upper case. username watch out for zero and o )

TP-Link Archer AC2300 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Gigabit Router (Plug ONT cable into Internet port, run Autodetect > PPPoE > add username/pass = connected at full speed), no need for VLAN IDs
TP-Link Archer VR400 V3 AC1200 Wireless MU-MIMO Dual Band (1st Advanced tab, change the Operation Mode to Wireless Router Mode (the ONT is acting as a modem, hence it will not work if you are in DLS Modem Router Mode). 2nd Do not enable VLAN ID or it will not work! Vodafone will tell you to set it to 101, if you do this it will not work! Keep the default MTU size (1480), do not change it to 1492, as suggested in several posts in this thread, or it will not work!.

RT-AX86U ?
(from user) I managed to connect Asus DSL-AX82U modem/router and use it without Vodafone Wi-Fi hub finally. When use Asus router tutorial choose network provider as BT - Infinity. VLAN ID come up automatically as 101 then just copy your Vodafone username and password

Just looking at my username. It starts with lower case
dsl (then 9 numbers starting with what I assume is zero zero) then the @Broadband@broadband.vodafone.co.uk
My password is 8 chars long. Upper and lower and no letters can be confused for another if it was lower or upper.

Yes, for example first time i was given fttp login details with Vlan 901 😑
31-08-2024 09:57 PM
Mine was given as vlan 101 on both. I guess I'll try again and see what I get next time. The 2nd time I asked (to double check the first time) I was asked if I was on a "landline" so it obviously does change their answer

@smith2001 Try without a VLAN, and also just try getting the Vigor working by itself (unless that is what you are doing), that way if you get it working working you'll know the username and password are correct.

I've only been trying on the Vigor. I spoke to the 3rd agent and got the same details via text and she gave me more details for the settings. They are all as they said and it's still just flashing trying to negotiate and work. Where as the normal Vodafone router negotiates within a minute or two.
also tried without vlan (it's in a separate area on the Vigor that you configure before you change the other parts/enter username and pass. Tried vlan as 911 and went back to 101 again. No change. Obviously it's going to be something simple and I'm reading through the 43 pages on here for any ideas.

@smith2001 Did you try leaving VLan empty? (sorry if you already mentioned, but I did scroll back very far).
01-09-2024 04:50 PM
I tried vlan empty. Vlan disabled. Then re-enabled on ADSL empty and with 101 in
VDSL2 empty and with 101
Both disabled and enabled with multiple variations. Having no joy

Clutching at straws but posting my main Internet access setup page in the hopes someone has this model and noticed something

Just to confirm that in your case you have all the details setup in the Vigor 2760 - as it's a modem/router you've the username and password on the Vigor, and the Asus router is just setup as an AP (Access Point)?
