Incorrect PPPoE password given by livechat

This is not a question but a post to hopefully help others when requesting their PPPoE username and password on live chat.


I requested my details a total of three times over month period. The first two times I was given an incorrect password where they had misread a capital "i" for a lower case "l". The third time i was finally given the correct info after a month of messing with various config settings and different routers. 


So when requesting your details ask them to double check every character!  especially 1, l, I

I've put my pppoe details in my router and says no ip address on screen 

I've added the @Broadband etc to the end of user name but no Internet 

If you have no internet @KENNYBOY86 You'll need to speak to the dedicated Broadband team on 0333 304 0191 or via LiveChat here so they can check this out for you and help to get you up and running. 

I have Internet when on voda hub when disconnect that and use own with pppoe It says not ip

16: Advanced member Were you given the VLANID to use. On fttc it's 101, on openreach fttp it's not used, and on Cityfibre fttp it's 911.

I went onto ubiquiti changed dhcp to pppoe put in the user and pass they sent and turned on vlan and typed in 911 

at what point do I take the wan out of voda and put in my third party third party just says no ip on screen when I take wan out f voda and put in amplifi alien

Other than contacting support to double check they've given you the correct details I can't offer any other advice.

Apparently you have to use an app on your phone to set it up (far from ideal) and also have to open it up to the internet (security issue).

What made you buy this?

Join the amplifi forum and ask there. I'm sure this topic would have been brought up. 

tbf I'm looking at cancelling in my cooling off 


5 people have stated the user & pass all 5 have quoted them same but router says no ip

going the pppoe route I don't need voda hub connected right ?
