Previously I had SuperFast2 with a Vodafone Hub (THG 2250) and it was dropouts galore for every wireless device I used regardless of distance to the router. Every couple of hours without fail and would take 5, occasionally up to 10, minutes to start working again, which made working from home extremely inconvenient. I purchased a 3rd party modem/router (TP-Link VR900/AC1900) and it immediately fixed the issue and haven't had any problems for the last 2 years.
I've recently upgraded my Vodafone broadband from SuperFast2 to Fibre2 and was sent a new Vodafone Hub (THG3000) as the sales rep told me my 3rd party router wouldn't work with the new upgrade (although he never asked what make/model it was).
I got dropouts at the start but that seems to have stabilised however, my TV will randomly dropout and will not connect until I re-enter the password. I can be watching Netflix/Youtube and then it'll just stop working mid-stream; re-enter the password and it'll immediately work again.
I'm going to try plugging in my 3rd party router again as I see no reason why it wouldn't work (assuming the login details are the same) but anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Of course you third party router will work fine. However, as you've upgraded your broadband the PPPoE details will have changed shortly after the upgrade. You'll have to get your details again.
The THG3000 is a bit hit and miss - it'll work fine for some but causes problems for others.
You've probably heard loads of recommendations to hardwire the TV for the best results, so I won't say it 😁

I mean it defeats the purpose of a wireless router if the solution is always to hardwire it 😕. Yeah it's faster, but it's also just a TV streaming 1080p and I don't want a 15m-20m cable routed around my house. The speed is sufficient, it's the random loss of password and it's the only device that seems to be doing it. Gonna have another dig around the router settings and see if I can get it sorted.
Yeah, I've been put on digital voice but I haven't owned a landline phone to plug in for at least 15 years so I that's not something I need to be concerned about 😋

Losing Wifi authentication part way through viewing something sounds like an issue with WPA3 or WPA2/WPA3 ! Yes, with the correct credentials, you can get your own router to work, but on the new Vodafone Hub, if you change the WiFi security to WPA2 (a downgrade) it may work! If you then have devices that you want to connect to using WPA3 security, just set that up on a guest network!

In that case, I doubt any changes you may make to the router will help, it sounds like the TV at fault.
The OP is on Fibre 2 with the THG3000, so no Wi-Fi 6 or WPA 3.

Yup, made a bad assumption. In which case it does sound like the TV is probably at fault, though I'd then try switching back to their own router!

I would suggest setting the TV back to factory defaults, and starting again.

I don't think it's the TV since that hasn't changed, haven't done a factory reset either.
Just in case anyone else is having similar issues, I disabled all IPv6 settings on the router (even if it looked like it was doing nothing) and so far the TV hasn't lost the password since.
It's only been 2 weeks so maybe coincidence, maybe not. I'll post back if it happens again.

Last update I guess. Turning off all IPv6 seemed to work for a month or so but then it started randomly losing passwords again, although much more seldom.
I tried disabling 5Ghz wifi but streaming anything would buffer quite a lot, which is ridicilous for Superfast 2. So I ditched the Vodafone router, went back to my third party router (TP-Link VR900), disabled 5Ghz, and it's been running smoother and faster than before for the last 2-ish months.
So it looks like 5ghz on my tv is either unstable and/or there's too much interference in my flat for a stable 5Ghz connection and the supplied Vodafone router is essentially junk that's not fit for purpose.

@Akira181 Did you try moving the 5GHz to a higher channel number?
