Good morning,
I have had Vodafone for over a year and not had issues like this before, the packet loss I am currently experiencing is quite high with cloud gaming services Google Stadia and ShadowPC. I am hardwired 1GB/s from my desktop to the router. I have raised a couple of cases with Vodafone but get there nothing wrong with the line and to restart my router, I am restarting it every couple of days atm.
Please find example of packet loss/latency increase below:
Latency:
1 85.190.65.254 (85.190.65.254) [AS64476] 0.615 ms 2 ae10-666.edge1.pa1.shadow.guru (85.190.64.252) [AS64476] 0.634 ms 3 ae0-0.edge1.th2.shadow.guru (85.190.67.8) [AS64476] 0.917 ms 4 hu0-2-0-4.rcr21.b019498-0.par01.atlas.cogentco.com (149.6.161.241) [AS174] 0.927 ms 5 be3593.ccr41.par01.atlas.cogentco.com (154.54.60.121) [AS174] 1.250 ms 6 ae.29-xcr1.hex.cw.net (195.2.9.94) [AS1273] 7.207 ms 7 vodafone.par04.atlas.cogentco.com (130.117.14.166) [AS174] 12.131 ms 8 * 9 ae7-xcr1.man.cw.net (195.2.27.170) [AS1273] 14.492 ms 10 * 11 host-212-158-250-38.dslgb.com (212.158.250.38) [AS5378/AS25310] 14.550 ms 12 * 13 * 14 * 15 * 16 *

Is there any damage on any of the Ethernet cables
Ask a friend to check if there internet is also doing the loss as well
Try wifi
Try a free vpn
Try other addresses see if you have loss

Hi Gipjon,
Thank you for your quick reply,
Other Ethernets display same packet loss and latency, including brand new.
WiFi performs similarly.
Have not tried VPN.
I have updated all client devices to the OpenDNS server and the latency and packet loss has dropped significantly! Never realised Vodafone's DNS servers were that bad...
Do you have recommendation of DNS servers to use with Vodafone?
Thank you

I have a feeling that maybe depending on where you live and what route your internet takes, it may be different from one user to another but everywhere you read Vodafone DNS is not the best
This is a very good program to see which is the fastest in your area

Wouldn't it be easier to just update it in the router?
I use Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 as primary and Google 8.8.8.8 as secondary.

Hi Jayach,
I have done that now but wanted to use a couple of devices to test before I apply network wide.
Cheers,

Surprised no one figured out that the first Traceroute is FROM ShadowPC to (I presume) the IP that you listed (you ran traceroute on the remote shadowpc).
It'd be interesting to see what the packet loss is from your home location to other sites.
