Hi all,
Recently received new Vodafone hub, really solid connection at 45mbps. I'm trying to open a specific range of ports for external connection (running a dedicated game server for my friends), correct settings are applied but online tools say ports are still closed.
73 is a static IP assigned to the device in question. I then use my external IP shown on the hub menu (starting with 84.70) on an online port checker tool.
Live chat agent said settings could take 24 hours to apply, even though I changed the settings on Monday so it's been more than 24 hours. On my previous plusnet router, port forwarding settings were applied pretty much instantly.
Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated!

I searched about the forum and found a couple of threads that may help. The first one got it to work simply by doing a factory reset, so try doing a factory reset from the GUI, the THG3000 does seem to get itself confused sometimes.

I tried the factory reset last night and it actually prevented the router from connecting to the Internet. Voda live chat agent had to remotely change some settings and had no Internet for ~10 hours. Tried port forwarding again now that it's back up and still nothing.
I guess the only remaining option is to buy a 3rd party router with built in modem and use that. Nobody on live chat will entertain the possibility that there's a hardware/software bug with the router.

There's no way a factory reset should stop the router connecting to the internet, so there is something strange there.
I actually liked the THG3000, but I was annoyed by the locked down software, and it seems the Technicolor DGA4231 is the same router but in a different box, so I got one off eBay.
Internally they look exactly the same but the Technicolor has, in my opinion, a better look. (Jet black slab with twinkly green LEDs, reminds me of the data centres I used to work in)
Got my DSL credentials off Vodaphone and it works fine, and I can confirm the port forwarding works. Also it is much more configurable with the Technicolor firmware.
The only worrying aspect is that it is impossible to get firmware updates out of Technicolor so there will be no security patches, but I will be off as soon as my contract runs out so will take a chance till then.
I'm not suggesting you should do the same but a new router with the same specs will be quite expensive. This cost me £21 including postage.

I honestly do not have a scam link or anything to post as such, I have actually been having the exact same problem.
I apologize for the unappealing username - I don't mean to appear as suspicious or untrustworthy in any way but I've actually been having the problem and no matter what I do, only port 443 appears as open when I forward it, no other ports seem to respond to my forwarding actions on my router

I hadn't meant to sound rude, but such a comment on a 2 year old thread seemed suspicious.
I've no reason to suppose port forwarding doesn't work on the Vodafone router(s).
Perhaps if you start your own thread stating what router you have, and what ports you want to open/forward (and maybe why, if you are happy to disclose that) and just what settings you have tried, someone will be able to assist you.

Thanks, I understand your suspicion - yet it seems from my past research all these old threads have the most relevant information on the problem I seem to be encountering. I merely thought that such an old thread must have a solution after such a long time, but it seems that after trying many things in response to the problem which has been described in this thread, (which seems to be the exact same problem I have) I still haven't been able to solve anything except for an incongruous port 443 opening and every other port still being unresponsive.

That is the port for HTTPS connections, so will be open.

How are you testing whether the ports are open?
