Where are you, and what service are you on?
That appears to be a router used by Virgin in Ireland?

Virgin Media have used these on the UK mainland too around Manchester and a couple of other places. They tend to have just audible humm! As they are DOCSIS devices though cant see how you'd use one with VF!

Exactly that, I'm in Ireland and this one is used by Virgin Ireland. Any clue?
