@Stevepell I'm really glad to hear that you got a chance to chat to one of our Tech guys, even though the issue is still ongoing. Please do keep us updated on the situation as any information you find may be really helpful to others experiencing the same thing 😊

I can still split the wifi channels and the 5Ghz is given a different SSID automatically, so would that not allow you to connect the devices via the 2.4Ghz only? Re-join them after.

Do you have a router with an extension booster unit, apparently this removes the split option, which I can no longer see?

No I just have a THG3000 F/W 19.2.0307-3261019.

These are my WiFi options. (I've also attached the photo so we don't have to wait for moderation)

I no longer see the options you do, frequency option has gone.

I'm on the newer version of the vox3 THG3000g v2 router

Firmware version: 19.2.0307-3261013

Hi,

Thanks for the hints.

I have now resolved the issue, my pixel phone connects to the 5ghz Wi-Fi, the IOT devices connect to the 2.4 ghz for range. I couldn’t force my phone onto the 2.4 channel. Used my old phone Galaxy note 4, this had the IOT device software on it, connected up on 2.4 and worked straight away.

Thought I’d pass this on in case others have issue.

as a note - and i think this is information is too late for you specifically - but if you "split bands" you can then turn off 2.4 or 5G frequencies independently (and also have different SSIDs).

It might also be useful if someone could check that there is no retransmission between the two WiFi bands.  The lack of retransmission between bands would cause issues on almost all home WiFi networks!

Sorry @KeithAlger, but what do you mean by retransmission between the two WiFi bands?
