HI, I have had a TP link extender RE300 for 4 months which was working great but now has suddenly stopped working. This is the second extender I have had with the Vodafone router and the last one also suddenly stopped working presumed it was a fault and replaced it. It connects ok to the router but won't accept the password, I have tried reset and also tried the password before re siting it.  Any help appreciated.

Hey there @emjay1971  - I'm sorry to hear you're having some issues with this again. Which of our routers are you currently using?

Have you tried resyncing it using the WPS button? You need to hold the one on your router for at least 10 seconds and then press the one on the extender for 5 seconds straight after.

HI, I have tried resyncing numerous times now and it keeps coming back with incorrect password. The router is a THG3000.

Thanks for letting me know @emjay1971 - what Home Broadband package are you on at the moment? If you have Vodafone Pro Broadband, then our Wi-Fi Xperts team can help set you up with some compatible WiFi boosters - you can speak to them on 08080 034 515 📱

Thanks Amanda, I don't have the broadband Pro, I'll see if I can riung someone and have a chat about boosters

Have you tried using the WPS button as @Amanda suggested?

Press the WPS button on the Vodafone router, when the internet LED start blinking then press the WPS button on the extender.

thanks @Jayach. Yes I have pressed the WPS buttons, it does look to pair up, as in it has all the right lights on but can't connect devices to it as they won't accept the password.

Hi @emjay1971, it might be worth taking a look at upgrading to one of the Pro packages. You'll get a Super WiFi Booster to ensure you get WiFi in every room and a 4G broadband backup dongle, so if the broadband service gets interrupted, you'll automatically be switched to the mobile network. More details can be found here 🙂

I don't think that encouraging a customer to upgrade before tech support have done anything or a duff router has been ruled out is fair or proper.
