Vodafone Pro 2/ Ultra Hub sky Q losing network connection

Hi. Will call the Wi-Fi expert team but thought I’d ask here first. Recently swapped from sky bb to Vodafone ftth with the Vodafone ultra hub on the Pro 2 product.

all is fine. Except - as I feared - Sky Q. I’ve got that plus 3 sky mini boxes. The sky q main box is wired in via power line adapters. With this it will work perfectly - for about 24 hours. At about this point the link between the sky q main box and the router either drops or gets blocked by the router. A reboot of the router fixes it for about the same period of time again.

my best guess is that the router thinks the various sky connections are erroneous and decides to block the connection. If I look at the router logs there are lots of red errors - and I mean lots! But I assume all router logs have a number of errors like this.

so question is - has anyone else come across this sort of error and does anyone here have any solutions?

fyi I’ve tried amending dns to 1.1.1.1 etc on the sky box. And have tried connecting both wires and wirelessly with approximately the same results. It’s currently working now after the reboot but I fully expect it to fail again in the next day or so.

many thanks. Hopefully at least this can help anyone else in the same predicament.

John.

@ZOBBY1  Wow! No follow-up to your original question.

I'm not a Sky Q owner, but if you would paste a portion of the router error log perhaps we can sort out which lines are relevant.

For the most part those with "DROP" and DST= your-external-IP are just bots looking for weak/open devices.

Those with IP6 are completely irrelevant as Vodafone don't do IP6 at present. You can turn IP6 off in the router.

It's been a while since your post so hopefully things are improving.

Wow! This one does seem to have slipped through the net. I wonder how @ZOBBY1 (John) has got on, and whether he's dumped the sky q or was in time to drop the vodafone contract.

We had another query about Sky Q yesterday, so I guess there's been some crawling around on other boards looking for answers.  There's a lot out there and it's hard to find anyone who has come up with a definitive answer irrespective of what other equipment is in use!

Hi. Just to update you. After multiple attempts to set sky Q up wirelessly - I ended up using a couple of power line adapters to connect the sky Q box to the router. Since setting it up like that - it’s been rock solid. I appreciate this may be due more to luck than judgement. 🙂
