I moved from Vodafone to Sky on 29/01/2025 and request my landline number to transfer across.
On connection day the landline number was new. Sky have checked and they requested the number, but when they checked Openreach received a different number from Vodafone.
I have called Vodafone and the say that the issue is with Sky and Sky say it's Vodafone as they gave the wrong details to Openreach.

Personally I would say Sky are to blame, you presumably gave them your number, if they ported the wrong number across, that is their problem to sort out.

Yes, gave them the correct number. Sky say they have checked the details released by Vodafone to Openreach and Openreach have been given the wrong number by them. Neither Sky or Vodafone will take responsibility and help

Obviously I don't know where the process went wrong, but I still think it is up to the gaining supplier to resolve.
Edit: I would say start with an official complaint to Sky. if they can't or won't resolve it ask for a deadlock letter and take it to arbitration. You may not get your number back, but you should get some compensation.
