Wifi not reaching upstairs...

Hi All,

I'm new to Vodafone broadband and am finding the wifi signal on the router to not be great... I live in a two bed terraced house and am only getting a 'poor' signal upstairs. It doesn't help that the master socket placement means the router has to be in a corner at the front of the house, so not exactly a central location...

Can anyone advise on how best to improve matters? A new router perhaps? Extenders - although there aren't any sockets between where it is and the bedrooms I want it to better reach upstairs, so I'm not sure that will work.

Thoughts welcome!

While I have no issues with the TP-Link powerline adapters, the go-to for me, if I were buying, would be the Devolo G.hn adapters (Which I don't have any of, but have seen in action).

@CrimsonLiar They look quite good, but they are more than I need and also more than I'd like to spend at present. If, or when, my current stuff breaks I would look at them again.

Hi there, I had a similar problem when I upgraded to Full Fibre 500 and moved the router (THG3000) to the front of the house. I purchased a Netgear EX6110 and set it up, but could not get access to the Internet wirelessly. Today I did a factory reset on the Vodafone router and though the firmware has the same date stamp 26/11/2021, I think the wireless drivers must have been updated as now WiFi works fine around the house. Connecting through the EX6110 extender SSID.
