Hi,
I transferred my pay monthly contract to a PAYG sometime last year or maybe earlier this year I don’t recall, because I was planning to spend some time abroad and wanted to save some money.
I did not know however that if I didn’t use the number in 90 days, that it would be disconnected. I had NO warning of this, otherwise I would’ve tried to save it.
I’ve had that number for about 15 years and would like to save myself the hassle of contacting everyone who has it as my registered number, and asking them to change it. Not to mention, I’ve been a loyal customer of Vodafone all of that time.
This is still the number that my WhatsApp is registered with, and I haven’t been removed yet. Which suggests to me that it hasn’t been reassigned.
I was told on the phone by the Vodafone customer team that it would not be possible to get the old number reassigned back to me, but I have seen multiple success stories here in the forum.
Can someone please help me??
Thank you!

The only thing you can do @SBrown17 is to drop the Social Team a message through social channels by following the information here Contact Us , they will be able to advise if there is any possibility to reconnect the number.
It is an Ofcom ruling that all PAYG numbers have to be in use, there are not an infinite number of mobile telephone numbers and networks are obligated to disconnect the number for reissue. The total time limit before disconnection is 180 days of non use, this also include adding a top up, in fairness to Vodafone they would have sent a text message after the first 90 days of non use, followed by two further text messages after the following 90 days asking to use the service to avoid disconnection.
