Interesting to see that Vodafone Pay Go ESIM's are now being sold on eBay:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vodafone-UK-Pay-As-You-Go-ESIM-/124477862415
This:
It does state that "Vodafone does not officially advertise pay as you go ESIM but it works and I can setup ESIM by using physical sim cards " so I guess they are just using the switch sim method located in the online account.

It's not something I'd try to be honest @WelshPaul and I would suggest to anyone contemplating this to read the reviews on the sellers feedback, and be ready to not be given support by Vodafone UK as this isn't something they provide to Payg accounts yet.
Hopefully in the near future esim support will be available to Payg accounts.

All positive reviews lol
Anyway, I'm not looking to switch to ESIM, I prefer sim cards. One of the above listings just happened to pop up on my eBay feed and I took a look out of interest. Nice little eBay earner that one! 😂

Do you know eSIM is now supported on PAYG? I went through the switch on the web account last year but got locked out as nothing happened after I completed the form. Would like to avoid having to go back to the store again to get a new physical SIM. Meanwhile all the help pages on vodafone.co.uk say nothing about support for PAYG existing, or not existing.

To use an eSIM with your phone @rarecat, you need to be using one of our awesome pay monthly plans. You can't currently use the eSIM function with a pay as you go service.

Hi there,
In another thread @GemmaP said that this is coming soon. Are you now saying that Vodafone has no plans to introduce eSIM for PAYG?
At the moment we're not supporting esims for PAYG.
Keep your eyes peeled on the Website though, as it's something that we're looking to introduce soon 🙂
I find it really problematic that 1) the Vodafone website does not specifically mention that eSIM is not supported on PAYG, and 2) the My Vodafone portal allows you to request an eSIM for a PAYG line, which then results in an unusable line because it's not supported.
Can this be raised with someone to improve the website/FAQ and change the behaviour on My Vodafone?
If not, I will fine a complaint as I was previously affected by this - i.e. ended up with an unusable phone.

I used an eSIM with Vodafone Pay Go in the past. 👀
