Hi @gemmas619

See privacy/protecting-you/payment-card-security

“  We’ll never:

  • Ask you to send your payment card details to us by email or Live Chat  ”

So I'd say No don't pass any Bank Account details to Live Chat.

Personally I wouldn't pass my Bank Account details unless absolutely necessary and I was 100% sure they needed it. Especially to a company that must already have this from setting up the Direct Debit.

What type of conversation were you having that warranted that sort of information being asked for may I ask ?

If they needed proof who you were then there's other information they can ask that identifies you.

Did they need this type of information to proceed with the chat ?

If Vodafone need this information then ring 191 and proceed this way.

Have a word with the Vodafone Social Media Team's via Vodafone Social Media Team's Link  and they'll pass this back to the relevant department.

Link back to your thread here including your forum username so your not having to repeat yourself.
