Hi,
I am in the process of buying a new iPhone through Vodafone but can't complete the process because it is requiring me to log in, sending a passcode to my iPhone. My iPhone is dead because of water damage. No texts are being received as I have removed the SIM card for water damage safety and popped it back in to try to receive the passcode. It was not received twice. Therefore, I can not log in to my account.
How should I proceed with getting a new iPhone? I have no way of calling anybody and the closest Vodafone store to me is closed due to the pandemic. I don't necessarily want to get a new account with Vodafone, either.

Hi @sydneyk
This is going to be a problem and the only way to upgrade without being able to log in is to call Vodafone from any other phone on 0333 304 0191 and speak to Upgrades. Whilst you are on the phone just in case the SIM has been damaged it may well be worth requesting a new SIM card.
When you have the new phone and are able to log in if you have an alternative phone number available it would be worth setting up to receive the code.

Thanks, @AnnS. Unfortunately, I don't have another phone I can use to call Vodafone. The only thing to do seems to be to get a new iPhone and a new SIM card with a new account under a different email address so as to avoid confusion with my other email address for the login.

Hi @sydneyk
Or go through a third party, could well work out cheaper for you. It's simple enough to move the number to the new contract, just port out the previous number by texting 65075, to any other network as PAYG and port back in on the new contract, does the job, you get the number you want to keep and saves you some money.
Also, take a look at Apple, quite sure they offer a way of buying the phone with a credit plan and gives the benefit of purchasing direct.
edit. just remembered you can't send texts, you would need to request the PAC from Vodafone.

Presumably you need your phone for other purposes, so the short-term solution would be to buy a cheap PAYG device that takes the same size SIM as your iPhone and use that.
