Hey everyone,

So, I’m hoping someone can help me out with this situation. I was budgeting for 2025  as I got a lil promotion and noticed that Vodafone has listed a default on my credit report. I tried to clarify this as told in the shop. but it’s been months  and it has been very hard to get through the credit team, I got told through chat and phone it was an easy amend but it is still ongoing can anyone help me contact then? Here’s a little of story:

A couple of months before my old housemate left in May 2024, we went to the Vodafone store in Canary Wharf to transfer the broadband account into my name. They suggested a new contract, which was supposed to be installed before our old one ended. But the engineers never showed up when they were supposed to. I went back to the store and an employee named David apologized, gave me a mobile Wi-Fi device for the time being, and said I wouldn’t be charged if I returned it before the trial period (June 4). I returned it by June 5 because the signal was too weak to work with.

When I asked for an update, I was told the installation was delayed by another week or more, so I ended up getting broadband from another provider since I work from home. After that, I thought everything was sorted, but I got a bill for the mobile device at the end of the month. I went to the shop and they told me it was a mistake as I retuned it immediately and they would have amended it as a refund and and now, I see this default on my credit report, and I’m just really confused. I’ve tried reaching Vodafone a few times through calls and chats, but it’s been super hard to get through to the right department.

I’d really appreciate any help! Thanks so much.

I suggest you email the CEO, the email will go to the exec complaints team who will investigate and offer you a solution.

After that if you don't get a suitable response then you can ask for a deadlock letter and escalate to the ombudsman. At the same time raise a credit report dispute via the credit reference agency.
