Hi,
I had a phone contract which I had wanted to end after the initial 2 years contract. I contacted Vodafone to end it and they informed they did and gave me my last bill date. After this, I was told to cancel my direct debit to ensure no more money would be taken after the final bill date.
In February of 2022 I get a debt collection email for £20.65! This immediately gave me a default on my credit score, completely out of the blue. I was not informed of the mistake from Vodafone either by email, post or phone call. No efforts to contact me regarding the mistake.
After receiving the debt collection email I called and spoke to Vodafone and they rectified and settled the account for their mistake however, they have not removed the default on my credit file. As a sole applicant looking to obtain a mortgage, I cannot get a mortgage because of the default account.
Please advise on how we can fix this over a small fee of £20.65!
Many thanks,
Chloe

Hi Rachael,
I've been sent around in circles on the support call.
I've been told to two debt collectors about the issue and they've both said this is direct with vodafone and cannot assist me anymore.
I'm not sure what else I can do, please can you advise.
Many thanks,
Chloe
