Download copies of previous bills

I need to re-collect historical backup documentation to support expenses paid for HMRC purposes. I can see previous Vodafone bills up to Jan 2021 in the online account only. Is there a way to get a copy/download bills going back prior to 2021?

I have tried the traditional routes via website and help chat with no luck.

Hi @AnitaA, thanks for your post. From the My Vodafone app or online account, bills are only stored for 12 months. So that we can best advise, can you tell us if your wanting the bills for a consumer or business account?

We know that you've previously contacted us to get a copy of these bills and we're sorry that this was not done. If you send us a message using Twitter or Facebook, the team will be happy to help. All of the details can be found here. In your message, if you can include your Community username, the business name and the dates that you're wanting the bills for, that would be great. Also, if you get through to the Bot, just select 'Get Started', followed by 'Asked to DM', this will get you through to an agent 🙂

Thanks for your guidance. I contacted Vodafone via Twitter to make the request. Unfortunately they will only progress the request with the account holder via social media route (I am an approved administrator on the account in question).

I suggested that the bill copies be sent to the account holder's email address if there was a concern about sharing the bill copies but to no avail!

I asked what route I can take as administrator but got no guidance. I am still looking for a way to get the old bill copies downloaded for HMRC documentation backup :Sad_face:

We can only discuss the account with the main account holder through our social channels @AnitaA. If the main account holder could pop us a message, we'll be more than happy to email the bills over to them. If they're unable to do this, you can reach out to our business customer services teams via Live Chat, or by calling 191 from any number connected to the account.

Just to give a bit of an update on where I got to in case anyone else is grappling with this also.

After a long afternoon looking for further guidance, a fantastic lady Stephanie called the account holder to check on the request. Stephanie was able to talk to me about what I was trying to retrieve and gave me information needed to progress this.

She was able to help with last 2 years of bill copies which she arranged to be emailed to the account holder (absolutely fine and understandable) and directed me then to request older bill copies by submitting a 'Get a copy of my data' request via the account settings menu. The request has been submitted by the account holder rather than via me as administrator on the account to avoid data privacy concerns again.

It is currently in progress at the moment. Will report back if any issues.
